Company Profile - BBC

BBC output touches people daily across the country, 96 per cent of people in the UK watch, listen and interact with our content. Our audiences spend nearly 20 hours a week with us. We’re a big part of their lives: a responsibility we take very seriously. That’s why, we need people working here who represent and reflect the diversity of everyone in the UK.

Put simply; without people who can bring a diverse mix of ideas and experience, we couldn’t make the innovative and creative programmes our audiences want.

For us, diversity isn’t a strategy; it’s an essential part of who we are.

Your application

Equality of opportunity is at the heart of our recruitment process. You’ll be considered based on your suitability for the job and nothing else.

If you need support with any aspect of your application our Access Services are available.

When you apply for a job, you’ll be asked to complete a diversity questionnaire. You don’t have to complete it but we ask you to do so because having a diverse workforce is so important to us. We only use the information to monitor how we are delivering on our diversity and equality promise.

When you arrive

Respect is one of our values. And when you work with us, you’ll be treated fairly whatever your age, gender, disability status, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, family background or circumstances.

You can join BBC forums that celebrate diversity and allow different groups of staff to network, share ideas and suggest improvements where needed.

Our accessible technology and systems mean that our disabled staff can access the same tools and services that our non-disabled staff use.  While our Workplace Access Standards mean that BBC offices and buildings are accessible to all.
