This is a fixed term post for 9 months, due to maternity leave cover.

If you are an Public Health Wales Health Board employee this post will only be offered on a secondment basis and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview.

To cover maternity leave, Maternal and Child Screening (MAC) is looking for an individual with drive and ambition to join its team. If successful you will be responsible for providing high level administration support to MAC. This includes all areas of secretarial, administration and organisational support. The post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of administration tasks to support the MAC programmes in ensuring delivery of the programmes is in line with agreed policies and standards across Wales. This includes arranging meetings and internal and external events, making travel arrangements, collating reports using Excel, dealing with issues as and when they arise and having the ability to report, address and escalate issues in a timely and effective manner and liaising with colleagues across the organisation.

The post holder should possess good word processing skills, have experience of working in an administrative or personal assistant post and should have a friendly and enthusiastic manner. The successful candidate will be joining a busy team so excellent communication skills, a flexible attitude to work and the ability to prioritise your workload are vital. The post holder will play an important role in the smooth running of the service, and will be a valued member of the team.

The successful candidate will join the team in the office in the heart of the city of Cardiff at Capital Quarter 2, which is only a short walk from Cardiff Central Railway Station. Home working may be required.

Occasional travel across Wales will be required.
