The Arboriculture Manager is responsible for the effective management of trees for Onward in order to ensure Legal and Health and Safety obligations are met.
Responsibilities will include dealing with out of hours enquiries, providing support to development work, managing production of surveys and delivering appropriate reports for tree works, delivering tree management across the Onward geography, providing line management and leadership to a team, keeping up to date with industry best practice and working in partnership with the wider Environmental Services team.
In addition to the this, delivering tree management across the Onward geography for both Onward and external customers, ensuring all requirements, including legal and health & safety, are met. Overseeing tree work programmes as required, ensuring all Onward trees (and/or the responsibility of external customers) are routinely surveyed capturing their condition and any work required.
It is essential to have knowledge and experience of tree surveying, risk assessment, management and administration, a good commercial understanding of budgeting, experience in producing BS 5837 Reports for development, experience in producing works to BS 3998 standard, experience of using GPS / GIS equipment and software effectively. In addition, the successful candidate will have a degree in Arboriculture of Level 5 qualification equivalent and Lantra or equivalent qualifications for tree works.
