Veolia Australia and New Zealand has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Asset Engineer to join our team at the Sydney Desalination Plant. The Desalination Plant plays a key role in supplying Sydney and surrounding areas with clean drinking water and is one of the largest Desalination Plants in the world with the capacity to supply up to 250 million litres of drinking water per day. Reporting into the Asset Manager, you will responsible for the development, implementation and management of best practices in Asset Management and to ensure that all assets are maintained and renewed in accordance with legislative requirements, contractual requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the asset management function on site
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all contractual asset management requirements
  • Oversee the proactive management of preventive and planned corrective maintenance and ensure that all activities are properly recorded in the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) CMMS
  • Ensure that the maintenance carried out is done in full compliance with all statutory maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure that the asset register in the CMMS is accurate and that the configuration of the assets is properly documented in up-to-date drawings and O&M manuals
  • Oversee the efficient management of the inventory of critical spare parts, tools and materials associated with managing the fixed plant assets
  • Oversee the efficient outsourcing of maintenance / project subcontractor activities; ensure subcontractors are efficiently managed
  • Produce asset management plans and reports as required (covering all maintenance and capital project requirements)to ensure compliance and continuing efficiency and viability of  the plant; short and long term
  • Audit and oversee the quality of data capture within the CMMS to ensure that all required asset and maintenance records are held in accordance with the contract and business  management system requirements
  • Monitor and ensure accurate tracking of asset activity costs

Qualifications
 What you will bring to the role
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in asset management
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering
  • Experience with complex water and wastewater process plants preferred
  • Experience with technologies such as reverse osmosis preferred
  • Experience developing and managing budgets and forecasting
  • CMMS experience; as a user and also as an asset management tool
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
