As an Asset Information Systems Manager at HS2 you will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the non-graphical data management aspects of the HS2 BIM Strategy. This includes the effective day-to-day operation of the Asset Information Management Systems (AIMS) – a critical component of HS2’s BIM Common Data Environment (CDE) and the depository for HS2’s asset register in order to deliver HS2 BIM and Asset Management objectives set out in the Development Agreement, with a particular emphasis on the design, implementation and continuous improvement of processes, standards and overall data management practices.

About the role:
  • Set the strategic direction and be the guiding mind for the Asset Information Management System (AIMS)

  • Functional lead responsibility for ensuring the AIMS programme of work is fed into the wider BIM programme and resources are managed effectively and projects delivered on time

  • Define the Asset Information Model (AIM) data model aspect of the HS2 BIM Strategy and ensure wider alignment across the programme, in-line with HS2’s Information Strategy

  • Manage the configuration of HS2’s Asset Information Management System (AIMS) including creation and management of asset classes, attribute fields, and access groups;

  • Lead the continual improvement of AIMS through specifications and requirement definition to meet evolving business requirements;

  • Ensuring that the appropriate governance processes are adhered to at all times with regards to data or system configuration changes;

  • Subject Matter Expert for development and management of data standards (AD4s) relating to asset information and AIMS;


About You:
  • You will have a background in Information Management, preferably in the rail industry or other linear asset management sector;

  • Experienced in management of databases including but not limited to Microsoft SQL Server

  • Appreciation of the influence that a data quality has on the asset lifecycle;

  • You have knowledge of data management practices;

  • Knowledge of the requirements of BS/PAS 1192, ISO19650, ISO 55000 & ISO 8000-150;

  • Knowledge of data analysis using a variety of data analysis tools and techniques is essential;

  • You will be experienced in running and coordinating large scale data systems and processes is essential;

  • Experienced in developing and using performance measures to identify and resolve process problem areas is essential;

  • Experienced managing large corporate data stores and their related systems;

  • Experienced in influencing key stakeholders in HS2 and stakeholder organisations;

  • The post-holder is expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with the HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect
