Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Development

Lancashire and South Cumbria is the major health and wellbeing provider for a population of 1.7 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. A provider of mental health and learning disability services and physical health services in the community. We are on a journey of improvement, having a new leadership team and have invested significantly in mental health services in the last year.

Our Chief Finance Officer, Sam Proffitt joined us in early 2020 and has been supporting the Chief Executive and Board to develop the future strategy and direction for the Trust working closely with the Partners within the Lancashire and South Cumbria system. This fresh approach can be seen through strategic initiatives such as developing a wider system management role within the system and strengthening partnerships and integration as we use a population health management approach to meet the needs of local populations.

We are looking to appoint an Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Development to further assist this fresh approach. You will support a new high performing Executive Team who have set themselves on challenging transformational journey as such we are looking for an individual who will relish these demanding but exciting challenges. You will provide strategic advice on the formulation of Trust policy and strategy and work collaboratively across the health and care system, engaging in and influencing external networks and partnerships.

You will have responsibility for leadership, direction and management of the organisation's planning function to ensure that strategy is translated into action through the business planning and objective setting processes, working closely with Trust colleagues to ensure plans are aligned and developed consistently. This work will incorporate the capital planning requirement and business case development as we embark on a number of key estates developments.

Strong leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills will be essential, and you will bring the integrity and gravitas to influence and engage our stakeholders both in the Trust and externally. Commercially astute and adaptable, you will bring your expertise and knowledge to support the Board and will inspire teams to continue to achieve all they can.
