The successful candidate will be supporting a UK Audit Business Unit and ARQ Champs monitoring the quality of our audit client engagements, the completion of key risk management and compliance activities and helping to organise training programs in the business unit. The role could cover any UK Audit Business Units, and therefore may be based from anywhere in the UK but may require some travel between offices.
We are looking for someone who thrives on dealing with people and who is organised and capable of maintaining focus on multiple projects at the same time. Ideal candidates will be someone that already has knowledge of our risk, compliance and quality requirements, systems and processes and will seek to advise staff in these areas as they gain experience. Knowledge of the Audit Line of Service is preferable but not required, although the candidate will be expected to learn about these services quickly if appointed.

Key activities in this role will include:
  • Creation or first review of monthly (or more frequent) reports on key risk management activities, including follow up actions with client teams and engagement leaders (includes, but isn't limited to, A&Cs, AMLs, Clientwise, file archiving and rotation tracking)
  • Updating risk management systems for changes in client team member roles and responsibilities
  • Organising and facilitating engagement quality reviews (Hot Review, KPI, ECR) and feedback meetings, including engagement file selection, securing reviewers from the business unit, obtaining access for reviewers to engagement files, arranging pre- and post-review meetings, prompting timely completion of reviews and compiling results for discussion and action.
  • Supporting the RMP on Quality Review Partner (QRP) allocation.
  • Assisting audit teams with data validation exercise of risk management systems, including making necessary amendments and obtaining sign off from engagement leaders.
  • Assisting engagement teams and engagement leaders with risk management and compliance queries and assisting teams in getting answers for more complex issues.
  • Liaison with other business unit risk & quality staff across the country on joint initiatives, projects and reviews.
  • Responding to ARQ ad-hoc central requests, including regulatory data gathering, providing R&Q responses in the QMSE to support the BUL, providing BU knowledge input for HPC list, etc.
  • Liaison with the Business Unit Support Leader to operationalise R&Q processes and initiatives.
  • Opportunity for working in non-complex queries in the Helpline with ARQ senior staff members.
  • Opportunity for providing training to groups on risk management systems, processes and hot topics - either solely or alongside the local risk management champions or ARQ personnel.

Essential skills:
  • Good project management skills.
  • Prioritise own workload and work unsupervised.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage high volumes of work. Must be organised and able to prioritise when working on numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well developed administrative skills in order to set up and maintain systems so as to provide efficient service.
  • A thorough understanding of PC applications - in particular Google, Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Effective communication skills and the confidence to deal with senior staff and partners. Face to face interaction with client facing teams is essential.
  • Professional yet approachable manner.
  • Meticulous and accurate approach with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Pro-active in seeking out opportunities to broaden knowledge and bridge any gaps.
