Facebook is looking for an Automation Software Engineer with an outstanding track record building and supporting distributed systems at scale. Our Automation engineering team builds the software services and systems solutions to deliver best of class hardware validation for every OCP rack and server hardware deployed at data centers around the world. As part of the automation engineering team, you will collaborate with our manufacturing, hardware validation, production engineering, and hardware design teams to create and implement test automation solutions operating at scale on production lines and lab environments.In this role, you will oversee and define the feature and architecture roadmap of an end-to-end set of solutions that span provisioning, scheduling, and analytics and play a key part in the efficiency and quality of all servers operating in Facebook's data centers.

Automation Software Engineer Responsibilities

  • Work with our global team to refine the product feature and architecture roadmap

  • Interface with partners to assist in troubleshooting and debug

  • Define and develop hardware abstraction libraries used for development of hardware validation tests

  • Define and develop User Interfaces to support manufacturing and repair workflows

  • Lead enhancements of automation for continuous integration, release, and configuration management across global sites

  • Design and develop provisioning solutions that scale across a variety of hardware platforms including, but not limited to, compute, storage, and network equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Experience in developing and implementing scalable distributed systems, and/or manufacturing platforms solutions for compute, storage, and network systems

  • Experience operating in Linux/Unix environments with knowledge of networking and network boot

  • Experience scripting in Python and/or any other related language

  • Proven project management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in computer science or computer engineering.

  • 3+ years of industry experience.

  • Experience with developing distributed systems operating at scale.

  • Experience with software and network debugging, profiling, and instrumentation techniques.
