Botanical Horticulturist - Rock Garden

This post is part of the Alpine, Rock and Aquatic unit and is the lead horticulturist planting and maintaining the Rock garden. The Rock Garden at RBG Kew is one of the world premier rock gardens covering 2 acres.


Apart from maintenance of the varied collections, you will also play an important role in a number of new and exciting developments and renovations.

All these displays are important components of Kew’s public offer and it is critical that they are of a high horticultural standard, so you'll need to have an eye for detail and take pride in your work.

Our ideal candidates will have previous experience of maintaining high end displays - ideally in a botanic garden or similar - with a real passion for plants and dedication to achieving outstanding results.

You'll need to have a horticultural qualification equivalent to NVQ level 2 or the equivalent experience.

To be successful in this role you'll need to be a team player with good communication skills, and also to be able to work on your own initiative.

The salary will be £22,500 per annum.
