Job Reference: 249-SCH-2689780

Employer: Department: Swindon Intermediate Care Centre Location: Great Western Hospital, Swindon Salary: £18,005 - £19,337 pa

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GWH) is forward-looking, friendly and focused on providing a wide range of excellent healthcare services to patients in Swindon and the surrounding area. We provide services in the acute hospital, in the community and in primary care; caring for over 1.2 million contacts every year. We have recently taken over the provision of two GP practices and are excited for the future as we work towards a completely integrated healthcare system in Swindon.

We value the diversity of our colleagues and actively champion an inclusive culture. We have a workforce of 5,200 and are committed to helping our colleagues achieve a work/life balance and proudly offer supportive, inclusive and family friendly employment with an on-site nursery available and flexible working policies. You'll be joining a great team in a great place, where your commitment will be genuinely valued, your skills respected, and your ambition rewarded.

Whether you already live here, or are thinking of relocating, you'll find Swindon is a great place to live and work, offering a countryside, modern shopping hubs, great schools and accessible transport links - we are less than a mile from Junction 15 of the M4, and there's a great bus service from the town centre to the hospital.

We are looking for a great team player to join our admin service in SwICC.

You must be highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our small but very busy team, able to cope with variable demands at any one time along with the ability to work independently.

Working alongside the ward multidisciplinary teams, you would be admitting and discharging patients using dedicated IT Systems; booking transport for outpatient clinics and discharges and performing a wide variety of admin tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience through the system. Flexibility is key as is a "can do "attitude. You are very likely to be the 1st point of contact for visitors and staff so you must be friendly and approachable.

The successful candidate may be located at either the SwICC Wards or Sunflower Ward, which is located offsite in the Old Town area of Swindon, so access to your own transport or a willingness to use public transport would be advantageous.

You must be confident, an excellent communicator, and able to work with, and challenge, existing procedures and processes within the Team. You need an eye for detail and be able to work to tight deadlines. Previous experience in a healthcare setting would be very valuable and experience of Microsoft Office is essential. Customer Services experience would also be advantageous.

In return, we can offer you a friendly working environment and the necessary support to fulfill this very demanding role.

Currently shift pattern is Mon-Friday but you may need to be flexible working some weekends
