An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated individual to take up the post of Cancer Services Manager at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post will provide an excellent opportunity to continue and accelerate the improvements within the Trust during these demanding times. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Cancer Clinician and Lead Cancer Nurse to drive cancer performance within the organisation and develop sustainable strategic and operational plans within the health economy. Whilst working in partnership with regional and the local health community to develop services that meet the requirements of the local population.

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times, with a desire for quality and innovation. You will be educated to first degree level or have equivalent level of experience in leading a service with a track record of delivery, improvement and sustaining performance targets. The applicant must have experience, understanding and knowledge of the National Cancer Agenda and operational experience of working with cancer pathways. You will be responsible for operational management and reporting of cancer targets i.e. 62-day performance.

This key role will lead and co-ordinate the development of the Cancer Services Team, identify opportunities for service redesign, develop recommendations to improve diagnostic pathways and ensure best practice is shared across MDTs and clinical teams. The appropriate skills and experience to support transformational projects is essential.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the operational management of the oncology activity delivered within the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Leighton Hospital, which is provided by visiting clinicians from tertiary cancer centres i.e. The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
