If yes, then you could fit right into our team of Care and Support Workers at Bircham House in Sawston. Bircham House provides individual person-centred care to adults with a range of care needs to maximise their independence, reduce reliance on statutory services and promote their independence. The scheme comprises of 30 one and two bed extra care flats for people over the age of 55 and is only a mile from M11 and Whittlesford train station providing excellent connections.

From being an understanding listener, you will help our customers to achieve their outcomes, maintain independent living, support with medication, and the work you do each day will really help to improve their lives in a holistic and empowering way. If you’re comfortable in working with different people, then this is your opportunity to provide a heartfelt service to others and make a real difference. Whether you have life experience or have always had a passion for care and support, the individual skills you bring to the role is what will make the difference.

In this role you will help our customers gain confidence and support them with their care needs to maintain their independence. You'll be an empathetic individual with a natural flair in building relationships, be non-judgemental and have a ‘can do’ attitude This role would be great for applicants interested in developing skills in working with individuals who have extra care needs.

Our goal, in this role is to help our customers to live independently, respect their choices and help them to be independent. You will work with both male and female customers with care needs across a 7-day rota. Ideally you will hold a care certificate however our learning and development offer will help you obtain this work towards this

Vetting Requirements

The important things – Naturally working with our customers we need to complete pre-employment checks before you join us. A DBS will be required to work with our customers along with Right to Work checks before you start.
