Our Digital Data and Technology Services (DDTS) Function is currently undertaking a once in a generation Transformation, as the UK leaves the EU. We are currently recruiting for an IT Change Manager to work within Group Infrastructure and Operations (GIO).
Working within the IT Change Management Team, the Change Manager will work collaboratively with Change Managers, Change Analysts and Change Administrators to oversee the lifecycle of IT changes being delivered into production environments governed by the ITIL aligned Change Management process. The primary objective of this role is to enable beneficial changes to be made, with minimum disruption to IT services.
This is an influential role with plenty of opportunities to identify and implement improvements to the Change Management Team’s procedures and ways of working which can have a significant impact across the whole of Defra making a real difference to people’s lives and helping to deliver a greener future.
You will be responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient coordination of changes to IT services, overseeing the lifecycle of IT changes into production and taking responsibility for functional implementation and operation of the change management process and its activities., including
• Maintenance and operation of the Change Management governance framework.
• Integration, coordination, and assurance of suppliers across Change Management.
• Validation of RFCs (Requests for Change)
• Scheduling and management of Approval Boards and Approve or Reject at Approval Boards.
• Managing the Forward Schedule of Change and Change Freeze windows.
• Tracking and managing Post-Implementation and review actions.
• Line management of a team of Change Analysts and Change Administrators.
You’ll have demonstrable experience of:
• Service Management best practice within complex matrix and/or multi-supplier environments.
• Stakeholder management skills informed by political and business awareness.
• Influencing, relationship and conflict resolution skills.
• Managing employee tasks and activities as well your own tasks and responsibilities.
