Duties & Responsibilities
As a Chef at John Lewis your focus will be on using fresh, seasonal produce to create dishes for both our customers and Partners to enjoy. You will therefore need to have experience of producing food to a high quality in a fast-paced environment. In this role you will prepare food/menus to John Lewis Partner Catering Standards and adhere to John Lewis food safety policy.
This role would be suitable for someone who has a real passion for food, is both creative and commercially focused, and who can get the most out of a team. You must be able to work on your own and as part of the team.Key duties include:-Delivery of full menu offer to hot plate and back up during serviceCompletion of relevant food safety/H&S documentation.To use your own judgement in making local decisions to meet customer needs that are in line with agreed department/depot guidelines.
Required essential experience skills and qualifications
Qualifications:-Food Safety Level 3 (will be trained within 6 months). Relevant professional chef qualifications: City and Guilds Diplomas in professional cookery, BTEC HNC in professional cookery or equivalent. Experience:-Experience in the catering industryPrevious large scale catering knowledgeExperience of ordering and controlling stock

Qualifications:-Previous experience in a retail catering environment. Health and Safety Level 2. Customer facing selling or service environment.
