Chief Operating Officer

Following the promotion of our current Chief Operating Officer, we have a great opportunity for a highly experienced senior operational leader to join #teamHDFT and take up an Executive Director role as part of the Board of Directors.

With a vision to provide 'excellence every time', we are a values-driven organisation committed to providing clinically and financially sustainable high quality services and supporting our 4,500 colleagues to thrive at work. We're proud to have been rated 'good' by the CQC and are on the journey to become an Outstanding Trust. With our new Medical Director having started recently, you'll join at an exciting time and will work as part of the team to take us forward on our transformation and improvement journey.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and inspirational leader who will be responsible for the day to day delivery of a broad portfolio of services across our children's services in North Yorkshire & the North East, our adult community services and our hospital services. We'd love someone who is passionate for improvement and will champion and promote our values in addition to kind, civil and respectful behaviours between colleagues. Always striving for excellence, you will bring a proven ability to deliver service and system transformation and a track record of working collaboratively within and across organisations.

This is an exciting and challenging role for the right candidate and we welcome all approaches from outstanding individuals ready to take the next step to an executive position.

Closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 18th October 2020.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and are signatories of the Mindful Employer Charter which underlines our commitment to enhancing the emotional wellbeing of all staff. This commitment begins when you apply to work at our organisation. We will support individuals through reasonable adjustments both at interview and during ongoing employment. In line with the principles of flexible working and improving work life balance, all advertised full time posts will be considered for job share or part time.

We welcome applicants with lived experience of providing unpaid care and/or support to a family member or friend with a disability, physical or mental health condition, addiction or other healthcare need.

We have research projects running across all specialties which are providing evidence and informing local and national practice.

Applicants who require Tier 2 immigration status to work in the UK are welcome, but such candidates will not be appointed to the post if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates, as the employing body will, in those circumstances, be unable to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test requirements, as required by UKVI. All applicants must state their current immigration status, including expiry dates, on their application.
