Clinical Nurse Specialist - Children's Community Nursing

Part Time, 18.75 hours per week.

An opportunity has arisen for two Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialists to join the Home Based Support Service working flexibly across a seven day week service delivery. This will include overnight and weekend shifts. The successful applicants will be based at the Fairplay Children's Centre in Chesterfield / Children's Community Nursing Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. They will be responsible for the coordination, assessment and provision of care to children and young people with life limiting and life threatening illnesses in a short break care capacity. Care may be provided in the Fairplay Centre or the service user's home.

Successful applicants will require:
  • Experience of working with children with special needs and complex health care needs (Essential)
  • 998 or equivalent teaching qualification (Essential)
  • Community experience nursing children with special needs or complex health needs (Essential)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children issues together with strong clinical skills (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development (Essential)
  • Previous leadership and management experience (Desirable).
  • You will have achieved RSCN or RN Child Branch (Essential).
  • Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (Desirable)
  • A car driver with a full current driving license (Essential).
