Costain is seeking a Commissioning Manager who demonstrates a passion to work collaboratively with our client teams to deliver their complex infrastructure projects to time, cost and quality with a commitment to safety. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in some of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today, in various locations across the South West
What will I be doing?

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following
  • Strong leadership skills with outcome focused collaborative behaviours
  • Successful management, oversight and delivery of commissioning work packages within complex infrastructure programmes
  • Line management of a commissioning team in terms of safety, performance, conduct and output
  • Application of robust commissioning/engineering management processes and procedures ensuring coherence from the work package scope through to system level close out including interface management
  • Management and implementation of commissioning stakeholder engagement plans
  • Ensure safe procedures are applied consistently across the allocated work packages
  • Prepare and present regular commissioning progress updates
  • Management of changes to commissioning schedules, resources and forecasts
  • Chair commissioning reviews with stakeholders including design reviews, change reviews and procedure reviews
  • Resource planning for the commissioning team and implementation of a Suitably Qualified and Experience Personnel (SQEP) valuation process
About you

To be successful in this role you will need
  • Substantial experience of commissioning large facilities and managing commissioning teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • Proven track record in complex project delivery, in defence (preferred) or similar technical sectors
  • Strong client and stakeholder relationship building skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of commissioning methodologies
  • Ability to operate both autonomously and as part of a larger team
  • Flexibility to travel and work in different sectors and clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills
  • Essential soft skills include, leadership, flexibility, self-motivation, effective listening, persuasion, creativity, collaborative style, insightfulness
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications
  • Must have existing active MOD security clearance (SC or higher) and hold a UK passport
Desired qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence
