The Construction Logistics Manager will join the SCS Logistics team that manages logistics across the HS2 main works. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining Construction Logistics Plans and processes which encompasses 22 sites across the SCS trace.
They key objective is to ensure excellence and consistency in our construction logistics activity. The individual will provide support to the Senior Construction Manager - Logistics and the 3 Area Logistics Managers to periodically review and update these plans to reflect changes to the construction sites. The Logistics Team will support engagements with the site teams.
Key to the role is relationship management with the senior teams in the areas to build rapport, establish working relationships and provide a level of escalation for issues.
All Logistics team members will be expected to work in the team providing support, cover and developing best practice.
The role is aimed at construction professionals who can demonstrate a track-record of achievement in project, people and client management in scale projects. You'll have a broad range of responsibilities:

•Responsible for creating and updating Construction Logistics Plans and processes which encompasses 22 sites across the SCS trace.
•Ensure excellence and consistency in our plans and activity.
•Conformance to the Key requirements for HS2 logistics management listed in the HS2 Work Instruction Wi880 - Logistics and the Route-Wide Traffic Management Plan
•Liaison with Logistics Team, Site Construction Teams, HS2 Logistics Team & other Stakeholders
•Produce management reports as required by the business and the client.
•Carry out any other duties appropriate for a job of this nature, in support of the Programme Logistics Manager

We're looking for:

•Must have senior-level experience gained in a leadership position within the construction, engineering or logistics sectoror
•Experience of writing high quality Construction Logistics Plans or similar formal documents Act to deputise for Area Logistics Managers or Senior Construction Manager - Logistics
•Good knowledge of site establishment and ongoing operation and maintenance
•Good knowledge of safe operational practice of vehicles, equipment and methods of loading and off-loading
•Good knowledge and practical experience of materials scheduling planning and organising deliveries to/from sites
•Experience of liaison with stakeholders including local authorities, police and highways authorities
•Working knowledge of Code of Construction Practice, CLOCS, FORS, Safety at Street Works COP
•Good Interpersonal and communication skills
•Practical understanding of Temporary Traffic Management and Consents
•Experience of managing and administrating commercial contracts
•Experience of working in high-pressure, complex operational and political environments, working at pace to deadlines and responding to rapidly changing circumstances and objectives
