Who we are looking for

As a Manager within Consulting at PwC, you will lead delivery on a project level. You will typically manage the delivery of a workstream and maintain the client relationship. You will also work with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers to develop new business and input into thought leadership. Our projects typically span retail banks, commercial and corporate banks, building societies and Fintech providers. You could find yourself involved in, but not limited to, one or all of the following:
  • Transforming productivity by focusing on multiple levers including:
    • People / ways of working
    • Process simplification
    • Automation and workflow
  • Operating model and organisational design /governance and implementation
  • Business case definition
  • Middle and back office operational design and implementation
  • Market assessment and strategy definition

You will work with diverse multi-disciplinary teams that utilise proven methods and tools in combination with deep banking expertise to deliver the solutions that our clients expect from a leading brand.

About the role

Within the field of banking and capital markets operations this is an appointment for a Manager to be responsible for:
  • identifying client needs and supporting the development of solutions;
  • leading client delivery on a project level;
  • building relationships with our key banking and capital markets clients; and
  • developing the careers of the teams working with and reporting to you;

Key responsibilities
  • Delivery of client operational transformation engagements;
  • Support of business development activities;
  • Operations and wider Consulting team building; and
  • Input into development of thought leadership.

Requirements

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

Essential skills:
  • Knowledge and experience of the banking and capital markets industry;
  • Operations Transformation Programme experience. Understand operations change, ideally from strategy through todelivery of results
  • Technical experience, including understanding of process optimisation techniques and technologies (e.g. robotic process automation), operating model transformation and sourcing models, would be ideal
  • Developed solutions to operational challenges utilising significant knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Productivity analysis, team coaching and ways of working improvement. Business solution architecture design, Operating model design, including business partnership roles
  • Process redesign, process excellence, process analytics, robotic process automation, workflow design and delivery
  • Shared Service Centres/ Outsourcing strategy, implementation planning, execution
  • Strategic cost reduction, cost analysis, business case development, initiative development and delivery
  • Individual, Social and Business Interaction - Flexible in using a range of influencing styles in order to build strong sustainable relationships, and demonstrating the firm's values;
  • Business acumen to identify client's real business needs which PwC can satisfy;
  • First class delivery skills of large, complex and multi-vendor projects;
  • Solid and articulate report, proposal and article writing skills to communicate corporate viewpoints on breaking news and technical publications;
  • Personal and Professional Development - committed to seeking and acting on feedback and learning opportunities; and
  • A track record of coaching and developing team members;

Desirable skills:
  • Delivery Skills - The ability to use our industry and technical skills to better deliver practical solutions that are valued by the client, for instance the shaping and delivery of Service Oriented Architecture solutions;
  • Analytical Skills - Identifying and diagnosing client issues through rigorous analysis, including data analytics, rather than selling PwC solutions;
  • Experience of lean methodologies for process/cost optimisation;
  • Experience of operating vision definition; and
  • Familiarity with core banking systems and data concepts
