The Role / Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the FT’s Contact Strategy team. The broad purpose of the role is to support core business objectives, namely growing subscriptions, driving user engagement and improving retention achieved by targeting relevant and timely communications and messaging through a variety of channels.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and build customer journeys, and help guide internal stakeholders as to which FT users and/or subscribers should be targeted (and why) for communications, within our campaign management framework

  • Be jointly responsible for ensuring that all activity is coordinated in such a way to maximise the effectiveness of each communication 

  • Ensuring we always use all available insights and intelligence to intelligently target FT readers/subscribers (correct frequency, content etc)

  • Ensuring all new communication initiatives are designed in a way that it is possible to explicitly measure and analyse their incremental impact

  • Providing support to stakeholders in the use and understanding of FT data to enhance/aid decision making when developing contact strategy initiatives

  • Proactively making recommendations in terms of targeting as well as potential new activity, often challenging the status quo

  • Maintaining day to day contact with stakeholders and play a leading role regarding the campaign schedule, balancing business priorities with resource availability

  • Be jointly responsible for undertaking the necessary testing and QA to ensure correct audience is being targeted with the right communication at the right time

  • Managing two Contact Strategy Executives

  • When required, helping the business understand what impact communications have on engagement, subscriptions acquisition or subscription retention, to help shape future contact strategy

  • Responsible for managing and prioritising own workload along with that of your direct reports

Required Skills / Experience 

  • Preferred but not essential - experience with FastStats and PeopleStage
  • Team management experience
