The Role / Position Overview
Financial Times Live (FT Live) is the conferences and events division of the Financial Times newspaper and its group publications. Our mission is to bring our global executive audiences the very latest in knowledge and opinion, and connect them to one another.
Chaired by senior FT journalists, the 200-plus core events, strategic forums and digital webinars organised by FT Live every year gather pre-eminent public and private sector decision-makers, visionaries and strategists from the world’s most important economies and industries for agenda-setting debates that cover the key issues of our time.
From unique experiences such as the FTWeekend Festival to our senior-level business summits such as the award winning Global Boardroom, FT Live has become one of the FT Group’s most successful and fastest-growing divisions, and is at the forefront of the FT’s accelerated development as an essential, interactive information source across numerous platforms.
FT Live is currently recruiting for the role of Content Portfolio Manager Americas.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing global team and help shape a portfolio.
In this role you will have responsibility for the following within your portfolio:
Full strategic ownership of Americas-focused content; you will be tasked with creating a 3-year strategic plan to grow our regional events portfolio
Overseeing content delivery for thought-provoking and commercially viable events across multiple formats
Conducting a thorough research programme and developing relationships with internal (including FT Journalists) and external stakeholders to grow core events, identify other business opportunities and contribute to revenue generation efforts
Devising the strategy and schedule for new event launches
Joining commercial conversations to test new concepts and ensure portfolio growth
Creating effective working relationships with other teams and departments across the wider business
Devising commercial and marketing strategies with key counterparts
Researching, writing and producing innovative, high-quality programmes for core events and strategic solutions (bespoke single-sponsor events), and confirming exceptional speakers
Managing freelancers where required
Contributing to organisational and process changes needed to deliver results in a dynamic live and virtual events business
Liaising with FT editorial to optimise the use of FT.com video and other FT digital output to enhance FT Live events
Required Skills / Experience
Experience - candidates must:
Demonstrate they can launch and execute new events, and grow existing events
Come from a B2B event background
Be able to work within a large, dynamic and fast moving international business
Have knowledge of and a deep interest in North and Latin American economic, business and political affairs
