Job Title -  Contract Manager

Salary - £46,000 to £50,000 depending on expereince plus Veolia benefits *listed below

Location -  South Yorkshire Region

Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager to join our team in the South Yorkshire Region. The successful candidate will be managing a portfolio of contracts in the South Yorkshire region, focusing on delivering utility management to clients including Energy Solutions.

What you’ll do,

This role is varied with responsibilities for contracts with embedded teams as well as delivering a service using mobile teams.

In a fast-paced environment working as part of a team, a key responsibility will be delivering the plant availability to meet client needs. 

Day to day responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of the team’s performance, including development plans.

  • Coordinate any negotiations with the Trade Unions.

  • Ensure management of our contractual obligations, including successful delivery of all Veolia KPIs, management of HSE and Quality Systems and policies.

  • Possess the ability to implement and lead change.

  • Manage the teams and lead by example. 

  • Responsible for the safety & environmental performance of the operations.

  • Deliver continuous improvement and plant efficiency ensuring the sites are compliant and audit-ready.

  • Responsible for teams delivering standard operating procedures, commercial performance and specified standards as determined by the contract requirements and company values. 

  • Lead the relationship with all clients including the monthly meetings and produce relevant reports as required. 

  • Manage the P&L for all sites within the portfolio.

  • Management of Energy Centres, boilers and associated systems, water systems.

Qualifications
 

The experience you will need

Essential:

  • Completed a recognised engineering qualification, with a multi-disciplined knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications.

  • Degree qualified, although candidates with appropriate vocational qualifications or equivalent will be considered. 

  • Background of running public, industrial and utility plants.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of current H&S issues and safe systems of work.

  • Strong customer focus experience. 

  • Possess motivational and leadership skills by being both leader and member of the team, promoting an excellent safety culture.

  • Good IT skills (confident use of Google and MS applications, SAP (CMMS).

  • Previous experience in managing budgets and making financial decisions with a strong background in delivering financial improvement in performance.

  • Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills and be able to cope with numerous issues simultaneously.

  • Previous experience in developing strategic plans with clients.

  • Ability to build rapport with colleagues, suppliers and contractors and build strong customer strategic relationships, understanding their needs and objectives.

  • Understand the management of all operational, maintenance and overhaul of these assets including management of PPM to deliver compliance. 

  • Experience in running 24/7 continuous operations for critical services.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of delivering Facilities Management services to clients.

  • Experience across a portfolio of clients including Hospitals, Manufacturing Sites and District Heating.

  • Expereince in negotiating contracts with clients to build long term partnerships.
