About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager to join the Stakeholder Engagement and Public Affairs team in Corporate Affairs, focussed on driving and supporting the firm's relationships with its external stakeholders.

The role will allow you to develop a strong understanding of PwC's stakeholders, giving you a new (external) perspective of PwC and our business. You will work with other stakeholder engagement team members to learn about the different stakeholders that PwC works with and contribute to an integrated engagement approach. The firm's external stakeholders include politicians, regulators, investors, journalists, business groups and others. You will also have exposure to the external challenges and issues the firm is engaged in, from regulatory reform to leading the debate on how to improve social mobility and address climate change.

Role responsibilities
The role has two main elements: building relationships and supporting the firm's policy and advocacy work to support the implementation of the firm's stakeholder engagement strategy.

Building relationships
Monitoring and tracking stakeholder engagement activities and exploring how we might do that most effectively, including developing ideas for measuring our progress.
Identifying new relationships that the firm's stakeholder relationship owners should have, supporting the team to ensure PwC understands its priority senior stakeholder audiences, their focus and their communications preferences, across the four UK nations.
Liaising with the stakeholder relationship owners to bring together relevant people, proactively building relationships and networking with teams across the firm and externally.
Monitoring and, where relevant, updating the firm's external stakeholder engagement strategy.
Working with regional teams (including in other Corporate Affairs themes) to ensure coverage across the UK.
Developing ideas for events and other mechanisms for engaging with stakeholders and helping deliver those (e.g. our Investor Events Programme).
Creating content and briefings for stakeholder meetings.

Supporting policy and advocacy work
Project managing the periodic refresh of our stakeholder materiality matrix and keeping it updated as necessary.
Horizon scanning for upcoming consultations, events, round tables, select committee hearings etc that we may want to respond to or be involved in.
Liaising with partners and others across the business to understand the areas they are most likely to want to provide a perspective on.
Helping to digest and summarise key consultations for sharing with internal stakeholders

Role requirements
The ideal applicant will:
Be confident building relationships internally across all levels of the business and externally.
Have strong attention to detail, whether in writing, data analysis, preparing presentations or other activities.
Enjoy working under pressure, helping identify whom to engage internally and externally as necessary when there are unexpected announcements.
Be a self starter and independent worker who is creative, able to act on their own initiative to develop content from scratch and able to manage multiple projects at once.
Be a team player, who is able to collaborate with people across the Corporate Affairs themes to maximise impact.
Be intellectually curious; interested in current affairs, economics and markets, with a keen eye for the news and reporting agendas.
Ability to read, digest, analyse and interpret consultation papers, regulatory and internal briefing requests, breaking down complex issues into clear manageable messages for communication to a wider audience.
Be proactive, flexible and positive in their attitude and approach to work, and their approach to their own development.
Show sound judgement and recognise when it is necessary to consult with others.
Be proficient in the use of powerpoint to analyse and present data about our engagement activities.
Experience using Salesforce (desirable not essential).
