Permanent & Full-time PwC_208784WD-int

A secondment into the corporate reporting (CR) team, part of UK Accounting Consulting Services (ACS), within Audit Risk and Quality (ARQ), will provide the opportunity to support our engagement teams and clients by providing advice and counsel on a wide range of corporate reporting issues.
Whether in how companies consider stakeholders, respond to climate-related issues, or demonstrate effective risk management and governance there is growing scrutiny on corporate reporting. The CR team is a leading voice on this agenda and you'll have the opportunity to identify current and emerging practices, directly engage with and support clients and engagement teams respond to regulatory change and increasing demands for transparency, and be involved in developing technical and practical materials.

About The Team
The UK ACS team is based across three national hub locations, Embankment Place (London), One Chamberlain Square (Birmingham) and Atria One (Edinburgh).
We embrace flexible working within ACS and use technology to support this. We are a highly tech enabled department and given we are spread across three locations much of our communication is done over Google Hangouts, and we work collaboratively in Google Drive. We also support flexible working patterns including part time roles and working from remote locations.
The CR team is the first point of call for many Audit engagement teams and clients. Amongst our activities we:
  • Develop pragmatic guidance and advice in response to consultations and regulatory developments
  • Review annual reports (draft or published) and provide feedback on areas of compliance and improvement
  • Develop and deliver training and webcasts to the firm and our clients
  • Engage with regulators and standard setters to influence the future direction of reporting
  • Work with others in the audit practice and across the firm to provide a one firm response to the growing scrutiny on corporate reporting
  • Review reporting practices in the FTSE 350 and identify good practice in support of the Building Public Trust Awards and other initiatives

About The role
The position is for a senior associate or manager on a two year secondment basis. We are able to offer full time opportunities, or part time opportunities to those on reduced hours flexible working arrangements.

You will learn to develop pragmatic solutions to address clients' issues, appreciating commerciality and leadership skills. You will also learn to constructively challenge teams and clients. • Build your communication skills - Talking to the practice and each other is at the heart what we do in ACS every day. Explaining regulatory requirements in an understandable way both verbally and in writing will provide you with enhanced and transferable communication skills you can apply beyond giving technical advice.
