Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Credit Management Clerk to strengthen our newly formed Duties & Taxes collection team based in Bristol (BS1 3AG).

In this role you will be responsible for resolving customer invoice queries (via telephone and email) to a high standard and within the agreed timescales and also ensuring the payment of invoices are received by the due date. Other duties include;
  • Invoice customers for export duties and taxes
  • Manage export duties and taxes accounts receivable ledger proactively contacting customer via telephone and email to ensure invoices are paid to agreed payment terms
  • Contact consumers to prompt online payment of import duties and taxes so parcels are customs cleared and subsequently delivered
  • Resolve consumer payment queries relating to import duties and taxes within agreed time scales
  • Facilitate the opening of import deferment accounts
  • Manage customer interactions via telephone and email ensuring our customers expectations are always appropriately met
  • Actively engage with internal departments such as Sales, Customer Relationship Management, Customer Services and Finance where appropriate to ensure all of the above are achieved


About You

We are looking for a customer focused individual who has a background of fast paced customer service and/or credit management (credit control) based roles.

You will have strong communication skills with a confident telephone manner and the ability to build a quick rapport with the customer.

You will be polite and professional at all times and have a willingness to go the 'extra mile' to exceed customer expectations. We will also expect you to have;
  • The ability to work as a team player and on your own initiative
  • Excellent administration skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office / Google programmes
  • Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and initiative to effectively problem solve.
