The John Lewis Partnership's Waitrose division is at this moment looking to recruit for the role of Customer Strategy and Proposition Lead.This roles requires the ability to translate the customer strategy into proposition direction,conduct strategic analysis into select proposition areas, to assess the customer opportunity and role in the overall proposition as well as work with key business stakeholders to influence planning and shape activity plans in line with the customer strategy and proposition direction
Overall Proposition Direction- Translation of the customer strategy into proposition direction - (produce and refine blueprint materials).- Ongoing stakeholder relationship management to influence planning and shape activity plans.- Maintenance of a consolidated view of customer-facing activity in a central proposition roadmap.- Preparation of material to support Customer Proposition Board (CPB) discussions on proposition direction and current business plans to deliver it.- Maintenance of sound business and market insight, leveraging all available internal sources and relevant external sources.Select Deep Dives- Completion of strategic analysis into select proposition areas, to assess the customer opportunity and role in the overall proposition.- Identification the specific customer opportunity Waitrose and Partners should be targeting (including size of prize), and the unique customer solution W&P should offer.- Creation of a compelling vision of the proposition direction and desired customer experience, and its fit within the overall Waitrose and Partners proposition.- Preparation of summary recommendation papers on specific opportunity areas for the Customer Proposition Board (CPB) and Waitrose Management Board (WMB). - Preparation of summary proposition direction of select areas within the overall W&P proposition blueprint, and standalone materials as briefs to key business teams.
Required essential experience skills and qualifications
- Experience in strategy consulting or business development roles.- Experience of customer proposition development.- Good understanding of the grocery market and underlying economics of retail businesses.- Demonstrable experience of influencing stakeholders up to board level and in a range of business contexts.- Demonstrable experience of providing strategic insight: framing issues, conclusions and recommendations to enable quick and sound decision making. - Proven ability to identify dependencies and manage multiple stakeholders across functional boundaries in a complex organisation. - Good understanding of strategic and analytical tools and techniques.- Advanced written communication skills, experience of writing reports and presentations.- Advanced use of Microsoft Office / Google Apps.
Required desired experience skills and qualifications
