We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in December 2023 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

In January 2021, Unilever announced its new Digital for Growth Agenda. 5 Competitive Must Dos, 2 Iconic Programmes, and 5 critical capabilities form the integrated digital agenda for which Unilever is uniquely placed to set the industry benchmark. Digital 4 Growth is also an Agile lighthouse, and our ambition is to become the first global cross-functional fully agile team, to accelerate the D4G agenda and lead the way for Unilever in changing our ways of work to horizontal end to end ownership and collaboration to co-create impact.

With transformation at the heart of Digital 4 Growth, we need innovative and pro-active leaders in the team to help embed new strategic direction, agile ways of working, best-in-class change communications and digital thought-leadership. We hope to accelerate our ambitions and rapidly scale new ways of working across our D4G Community.

Pioneering the transformation in D4G is the D4G cockpit team, responsible for identifying, delivering and maximizing several key critical enablers: agile ways of working and organisation design, championing learning, development and career opportunities for relevant digital skills and providing inspiring, effective and thought-provoking change leadership and communication to ensure we bring our insights and transformation to wider audiences, both internal and external to Unilever. As a result, D4G is a unique opportunity to gain rapid experience and networks across many areas of the business (Marketing, eCommerce, R&D, HR, Finance are all fundamental partners and contributors to D4G), high levels of responsibility and exposure to senior leadership.

The Agile Governance Lead is a critical role as part of the D4G Agile Tribe, reporting directly into the Programme Management Office. Being part of the D4G agile tribe, this role will eventually flow to value as and when the Agile Governance Lead skills are needed across the D4G programmes. The role will partner with specific programmes to support the Product Owners with defining the backlog (epics & user stories) and support with the development team delivery.

  • Support agile training plans across all D4G teams, including the scheduling and co-facilitation of key agile workshops.
  • Working closely with enterprise agile transformation leaders, ActioGlobal, support the implementation of an agile at scale framework across D4G including the setup of the D4G leadership team, synchronization across value streams and facilitating our quarterly business reviews - a pivotal event to harmonize priorities and capacity across multiple digital initiatives.
  • Help drive and shape our D4G community and culture with agile values at its centre (courage, focus, respect, openness, and commitment), taking a lead on agile team events and adapting our approach to maximize impact and team satisfaction
  • Driving clarity on key performance & adoption metrics, including the development and roll out of an agile pulse-check, gaining valuable insights from our teams on their confidence and value received from our new ways of working.
  • Support the execution of internal 'broadcast' communications as D4G embarks on its first significant broadcasting event, sharing our key objectives, but also progress and ambitions for our agile transformation.
  • Drive key Scrum Master responsibilities for the D4G Cockpit team, supporting the team to maximize our success and driving clarity and structure across our governance processes, including contributing to the development of our Digital 4 Growth Playbook.

The ideal candidate will have high energy, strong accountability and bias for action, and experience in marketing and/or CD. Other desirable competencies include:
  • A passion for digital, disruption and empowering our people
  • Confidence through high levels of uncertainty and change
  • Excellent organisational skills and a bias for action
  • An experimental mindset and focus on continuous improvement and learning
  • Team player, happy to 'roll up their sleeves'
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Experience in agile delivery

Not only do we offer a competitive salary, but also our pension scheme, an annual bonus, a free gym, a staff shop and shares. You'll get the opportunity to work directly with our renowned and exciting brands in a flexible and agile environment. We strive to achieve a family-friendly culture and to, above all, create possibilities for all.

Diversity at Unilever is about inclusion, embracing differences, creating possibilities and growing together for better business performance. We embrace diversity in our workforce. This means giving full and fair consideration to all applicants and continuing development of all employees regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy and maternity.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.
In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever's recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
