The purpose of the role is to oversee the development and full lifecycle of Onward’s data warehouse ETL using SSIS to ensure optimal performance and to produce and organise data and performance metrics for Onward ensuring that systems are linked and processed correctly.

Responsibilities will include writing ETL scripts and code to make sure the ETL process performs optimally, documenting source-to-target mappings, re-engineering manual data flows to enable scaling and repeatable use, supporting the build of data streaming systems, testing and fault finding and resolution. 

Analyse and provide support to the analytics and insight team to allow information on performance measurement to be documented and shared with the business; translating data into valuable insights that inform decisions. Support business intelligence reporting and facilitate analysis across Onward through production and maintenance of tables, data models and governed metrics and support the team in developing their technical knowledge of SQL and the data warehouse. 

In order to be successful you should have knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Stack, experience of interpreting data and communicating with technical and non-technical colleagues to assist in decision making across the business, experience of working to develop data and performance services and improve systems and be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent qualification.
