ITV On Demand is home to the platform that powers the ITV Hub and BritBox UK. Last year the Hub served over 1.8 billion videos to over 30 million users across 29 platforms including Amazon Fire, Xbox, Android and iOS devices to name but a few. We’re constantly expanding with year-on-year video delivery increasing by 23%. BritBox is ITV’s joint venture with the BBC and other content partners, that aims to deliver a best-in-class subscription video service for great British content - all powered by technology battle-tested on the Hub.


This role entails…

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our digital analytics and experimentation function within the ITV Data Group. We need to understand how our viewers are engaging with our content and products, who they are and build products that improve their experience. 

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong candidate to join our team of smart motivated individuals that are helping lead ITV’s digital transformation journey. 


Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Active involvement in the delivery of large data/analytics projects.

  • Source, analyse and publish a range of BI metrics – web analytics, revenue, advertising, viewing and customer data – to provide valuable high-level analytics and insight for the business

  • Undertake analysis to monitor and report key business performance indicators (KPI’s)

  • Report on all website, app and ITV Hub activity and generate insights on customer behaviour by analysing traffic, navigation and video viewing

  • Provide insight into user behaviour using advanced analytic techniques including segmentation customer profiling and multivariate testing

  • To ensure that BI data is readily available and of the highest quality to enable management decision making


To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Experience of SQL (2yr+)  and the ability to write queries to efficiently analyse large data sets (e.g. use of aggregate and window functions, lags and leads, and CTEs)

  • Previous experience of working within a similar role (2yr+)

  • A strong interest in data science techniques, and their practical applications across the TV industry

  • Experience with experimentation (A/B/n, multivariate & Bandit testing) across multiple business areas

  • Highly organised and methodically able to follow processes and procedures

  • High attention to detail and a determination to strive for accuracy and excellence of all data and insight produced by the team

  • Basic knowledge of Agile working practices and rituals would be advantageous
