PwC is a trusted adviser to some of the largest organisations around the world. As a professional services firm, we work across the public, private, and financial sectors.

We are currently looking for Data Engineers to join our in-house Artificial Intelligence team. The team is responsible for developing data driven projects and products with the aim of improving ourselves and our clients.

We use Data Engineering on most of our projects. For example, we've been able to run projects that research employee stress through collecting data from smart watches as well as helping scale natural language processing models to run billions of predictions, among many others.
The Role

We are looking for Data Engineers who can help us across our data pipelining and warehousing activities. Candidates should have some experience covering areas such as pipelining, modelling, or engineering. You'll be directly involved in the design, building, and running of pipelines. You'll work with the Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Product Managers, Software Engineers as well as the Consultants in our team
  • Design and implement extract, transform and load (ETL) pipelines to enable our projects and products
  • Design and implement data models across the different initiatives in the team
  • Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand their data needs
  • Cultivate good data practices within the team
You should apply if
  • You are experienced with languages such as Python, Scala, or SQL
  • You have experience with data intensive projects (professional, academic or personal) or working in a data warehouse environment
  • You can help develop solutions across the entire lifecycle (from sourcing the data to data serving)
  • You are a good communicator and are comfortable working with technical and non-technical audiences
  • You'd like to work with product owners and client facing teams to develop and implement data engineering solutions

  • SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL)
  • NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Neo4J)
  • Batch or stream processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Apache Beam)
  • Queuing/Messaging Systems (Kafka, Redis, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ)
  • Cloud environments (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services)
  • Cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, distributed systems)
  • Data Warehousing (BigQuery, Redshift, Hadoop, Dimensional Modelling, dbt)
  • Software engineering (Git, Continuous Integration/Deployment, Software Testing, Docker)
  • Data Identity and Metadata management (Apache Atlas, Apache Ranger, RBAC)
