Have you asked yourself how it is possible for Amazon to deliver millions of packages across Europe?

The Business Intelligence team of Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for Data Engineers to join the team to help build the next generation analytics platform and tools that supports Amazon's people to deliver this service to our customers.

We build software, transform data, and provide self-service tools for on-boarding new data, getting access to the data, and enabling custom transformations using AWS technologies.

Our Data Engineers use best practices in software engineering, data management, data storage, data compute, and distributed systems. We are passionate about solving business problems with data!

As Data Engineer in the Business Intelligence (ATS organization) you will:
· Develop and support ETL pipelines with robust monitoring and alarming.
· Develop data models that are optimized for business understandability and usability.
· Develop and optimize data tables using best practices for partitioning, compression, parallelization, etc.
· Develop and maintain metadata, data catalog, and documentation for internal business customers.
· Help internal business customers troubleshoot and optimize SQL and ETL solutions to solve reporting and analytics problems.
· Work with internal business customers and software developers to gather requirements and build tools for data publishing and consumption.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
· 2+ years of SQL development experience
· 2+ years of experience in data modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing
· basic scripting knowledge
· The willingness to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is occurring and ambiguity is the norm.
· Good communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, RDS, EMR, etc.
· 3+ years of Python scripting (or other platform-agnostic language)
· Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.
· Solid experience in at least one business intelligence reporting tool (e.g., Tableau, Quicksight, Qlikview)
