Data is intrinsic in everything we do across the firm - from audits to transformations, we can't deliver to our clients or continue to grow our firm without it. That's why we have appointed a Chief Data Officer (CDO), Sunil Patel, who will be responsible for a firmwide strategic data team. This new team is charged with delivering world class data management capabilities to enable the UK firms business priorities and growth with internal, client and third party data, such that it is trusted, protected, easy to use and provides insight.

Our vision is to encourage the responsible use of data to make informed business decisions and create more value for our clients. The Data Governance & Policy team within the CDO will work to provide clarity, structure and coherence through policies and frameworks across all types of data and the entire data lifecycle.

We are recruiting for a Data Policy Manager to develop a more coherent, joined up data policy framework that will enable more efficient and effective delivery of our data ambitions.

Role - Data Policy Manager
Grade - M
Start date & Duration of role - Permanent preferred or secondment may be possible, starting 1st June 2021 or sooner.
Location - All regional locations will be considered, with a preference for Manchester and ability for some travel within the UK.

Purpose
We must develop a more coherent and fit-for-purpose data policy landscape that facilitates the delivery of our data ambitions. This role will play a central role in achieving this goal.

Objectives of role
The individual will:
Establish the baseline picture of our current data policy landscape;
Assess current data policies against our firm's data ambitions;
Work collaboratively across related teams (e.g. Data Privacy, Security, Global CDO) to identify, agree and ensure implementation of changes and improvements to existing policies, or the development of new policies that will better enable the delivery of our data ambition;
Where required, escalate any conflicts or complex challenges to CDO leadership team for appropriate resolution;
Clarify Data Ownership roles and responsibilities and facilitate the network of Data Owners to ensure needs are appropriately addressed by the CDO.
Preferred skills and capabilities
Experience of developing data policy frameworks across a decentralised, multinational organisation
Collaborative across LoS & IFS
Good understanding of data across its full lifecycle
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple projects, deliverables and stakeholders, whilst ensuring projects progress
Curiosity to learn, whilst displaying resilience, cultural awareness and a can-do attitude
