Summary
The primary responsibility of a Department Trainer is to provide "hands-on" training in specific operational functions for new associates, on-going training and cross-training for seasoned associates and promote competence to facilitate associate development. Conduct training on all core tasks within the department and perform evaluation audits on associates to ensure procedures are being followed in compliance with the approved work instruction. The Department Trainer will act as a coach and sponsor during the new hire training process to new associates. This role will require Department Trainers to be flexible between 5am-2:30pm and 7am-4:30pm shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct hands-on training with new and seasoned staff within assigned training areas, using appropriate curriculum to address departmental procedures and technical functions.
• Monitor and evaluate the trainee's job performance against the approved work instructions.
• Provide coaching and re-training to employees that are not meeting the quality or productivity standards.
• Partner with Managers and Supervisors to identify and train team members that demonstrate the skill set to be cross-functional.
• Perform process audits on associates to ensure work instructions are being followed effectively.
• Recommend updates to curriculum, On-the Job Training (OJT) Checklists and Work Instructions as information / procedures change.
• Conduct training in larger group sessions including, but not limited to, departmental huddles.
• Attend training workshops and certifications focused on developing training skills.
• Be a role model demonstrating Allied's core values and safe working behaviors.
• Perform other relevant duties and tasks as required.

• Strong knowledge of the errors that impact our customers and quality performance, RA's, QC Audits, internal errors and corrective actions from the customer.
• Demonstrate proficiency with the Knapp screens and relevant sections of SAP system.
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. and will occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Education/Experience

• A High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of 1 year on the job training experience
• Must be certified and proficiency tested to meet OSHA requirements on all pieces of material handling equipment utilized at Allied Electronics Inc.(Required for the Highbay area only)
• Requires use of basic math
