About Costain and your project.

As our new Design Planner, you'll work collaboratively with the SPA's Design Managers, Production Manager and associated leads as the trusted and visible subject matter expert on the design streams planning. Pushing innovation whilst always considering the client and employee's safety, you'll embrace the SPA's production approach to delivery and challenge how this will impact on delivery and resourcing particularly within a design environment.

Anglian Water has created a new delivery enterprise - the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). The projects purpose is to 'Make the East of England resilient to the effects of drought'. Achieving our purpose will ensure the security of water supply for future generations, over decades to come.

By delivering a smart and resilient transfer system through the delivery of Pipelines, Pumping Stations and associated structures, we will be capable of delivering large scale strategic assets and complex systems to our current asset base by ensuring that these are digitally enabled.

Essential to contributing to our ambitious and exciting ambitions is our ability to gather, manage and analyse information of our region's geography to ensure we make innovative and smart decisions. With this in mind, we are looking for a

This role is for our Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) with Anglian Water, based in Peterborough.
What will I be doing?

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop the planning tools required to assist in the accurate management of design resources, processes and digital asset creation through this challenging programme of work
  • Collaboration across multi partner and multi-disciplinary design teams; championing knowledge share, learning and optimising expertise where possible
  • Engagement with Design Manager, Designers, Supply Chain Designers and offshore Designers, SPA Planners and delivery teams so everyone is aligned in all activities
  • Production of programmes to SPA and AWS standards.
  • Understand and stress the importance of the design interactions from solutions, production and delivery; promote the importance and value of the Design function across SPA
About you

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours....

To be considered for this position, you'll be able to demonstrate experience of working in multi disciplinary teams and have a proven track record of developing, owning and controlling a fully resourced and challenging integrated design programme. In addition, you'll be experienced in planning through the Design phase of large scale projects including civil, mechanical, infrastructure and non-infrastructure type work. You must be proficient in the use of the P6 project and programme management application.

Working in a driven, enthusiastic yet approachable fashion, you'll be customer driven and embrace the opportunity of implementing new ways of working, whether that be through people and/or technology. Able to professionally and constructively challenge, you'll be customer driven and passionate about implementing industry- leading designs.
