Job Description

The role

Sitting within the wider performance department of Spark Foundary, the Digital Planning Manager will be imperative to the smooth running of the account and digital campaigns for one of the larger performance clients, Elsevier. You will be working closely with cross channel specialists to deliver integrated campaigns and drive digital channel performance for Elsevier.

Spark Foundry manage all the digital campaigns for Elsevier allowing this role to have access and visibility to all performance marketing channels. You will work closely with the cross channel team with opportunities to expand your knowledge in Paid Search, Amazon, SEO, CRO, Facebook and Linkedin. You will also get holistic understanding of how all channels work together to drive overall performance across B2B and B2C.

This is a role that you will continue to learn something new every day, due to the size of the account and the business units within Elsevier, each campaign will be asking for something different from you. It is a unique opportunity in that you will be shaping digital strategies and optimising the digital campaigns from a planning point of view, rather than activational.

The Client

Elsevier is a health and pharma information and analytics business that improves performance of institutions, professionals and students of advanced healthcare and open science. They achieve this through their different technologies and consumer offerings. With both a B2C and B2B offering, their business encompasses databases of health and open science journals and articles for research, as well as ecommerce sites that sell expert niche educational books across the globe.

There are 11 business units within the clients business, all running campaigns across the year across all digital media channels.

  • Supporting the implementation of the annual planning strategy, providing insights and analysis from agency and client tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads etc) to help establish marketing and digital opportunities.
  • Manage the campaign briefing process and work flow of the specialist teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of work.
  • Keeping up to date with trends, both across the client vertical and also within digital media to ensure we are using latest category insights and digital practices.
  • Working across social, display and search to identify new platforms, publishers and products that can support the campaigns.
  • Reviewing weekly campaign performance across all channels, also tracking campaign performance against weekly/monthly campaign laydowns
  • Working with specialist teams to prepare and deliver monthly/quarterly performance presentations
  • Day to day client management, ranging from keeping on top of email comms, running status calls and managing adhoc requests.
  • Responding to client briefs and requests in a timely, professional and efficient manner
