Director of Estates Facilities & Capital Development

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking to employ the expertise of a highly experienced estates & facilities professional. Reporting directly to our Director of Improvement, this is a significant leadership role and an important opportunity to help shape the future of the Trust supporting a period of significant transformational change.

This exciting role will have the primary responsibility for the outsourced Estates, Facilities and Capital Development services, providing oversight of the agreed detailed contract scope while working in partnership with the provider, to deliver positive and cost effective change. Improving productivity and value for money, ensuring we are at the forefront of energy efficiency and contributing to wider ambitions as an anchor institution are central to the role.

The post holder will have accountability for in excess of £18m and management of a small in house team. They will provide assurance against the operational delivery while creating medium and long term strategies that align with the Trust's clinical strategy. In essence, this role demands a fine balance between the commercial management of the outsourced service, while holding the technical and professional expertise to represent the Trust in all aspects of the function, from health and safety to cleaning and good governance around capital development.

We are seeking a forward thinking leader who can engage fully with operational colleagues and promote new ways of working that support change and challenge established thinking. The successful candidate will be good at networking and building positive relationships internally and with the outsourced partnership. Representing the Trust externally at system forums including ICS/STP estates groups, and liaison with local authorities will be core to the role, as will development of new opportunities through an asset optimisation programme for the Trust's freehold sites within London and Hertfordshire. We are also open to considering flexible working arrangements including part time/condensed hours.
