Director of People and Resources
The Chartered Institute of Fundraising is the professional membership body for UK fundraising. It supports fundraisers through leadership and representation; best practice and compliance; education and networking; and it champions and promotes fundraising as a career choice. Our members raise more than £10 billion in income for good causes every year. The Chartered Institute has developed an active and change-focused position on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, creating a new conversation and expectations around diversifying the fundraising profession. We believe that fundraisers should represent the communities they work in and the donors they work with. Our ground-breaking Change Collective campaign brings together professionals from across the sector, working together to redefine its identity.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, our new Director of People and Resources will ensure the Chartered Institute has the right people, systems and resources in place to deliver its strategy. Key to this will be leading the overall business planning and risk management process, managing our budgets and facilities, and monitoring and reporting on our performance. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring our approach to developing our staff and volunteers is class-leading, and for developing a truly learning, collaborative and inclusive culture within the organisation.
We want to hear from experienced, people-focused, senior managers with significant financial expertise and a record of consistent achievement in strategic business planning and resource management. Experience of people and organisational development will be a major advantage, and a good grasp of the nature of working within a membership organisation will set strong candidates apart. You should also have a personal sympathy with the Institute’s membership profile, an understanding of the role that fundraising plays in charitable impact across the country, and an awareness of the important relationship between rigorous planning, ongoing monitoring and timely reporting.
For a confidential, informal conversation, please contact Rebecca Emerick at Cadence Partners. Contact details can be found by selecting the apply button shown.
Please note that we will only respond to applicants who have completed the application process (supporting statement/cover letter and CV) – CVs on their own will not be reviewed.
