Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management Limited (NHFML) was established in 2012 and provides specialist project management services for large and small capital developments, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services.

This vacancy will include all areas of Domestic work of which full training will be provided, with the opportunity to work towards N.V.Q. Qualification. You may be required to work Bank Holidays.

Mandatory training provides includes Manual Handling, Food Hygiene and Fire as defined by the Trust policies. The post will be based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, but the post holder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust. The following shift patterns are available:

1 x 24 hours

Essential Criteria
  • Basic Food Hygiene and/or Level 1 Food Safety Certificate or must be achieved within 6 months of start date
  • Basic Numerate & Literate Skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning products i.e. COSHH
  • Previous domestic experience
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control
Desirable Criteria
  • NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of using heavy duty cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning infected areas e.g. MRSA
  • Customer Service training
