14.5 hours per week

We are recruiting a highly motivated Domestic Assistant (Band 2) to cover maternity leave until 1st October 2021 (Fixed Term or Secondment) at Whitchurch Community Hospital to carry out domestic duties and help us maintain the high standards already set within this department.

The post holder would cover duties which would mainly include the cleaning of clinical areas, both on the wards and in our outpatient areas along with administration offices plus other hospital departments. These shifts are 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm providing a 7 day service, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota to meet the needs of this service.

As our team provides a service from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm everyday there would also be an opportunity and the flexibility to do extra shifts, especially to assist with cover for annual leave etc.

Full training will be given.

We are looking for individuals who are organised and able to work effectively alone or as part of a team with high standards. There will be an opportunity to discuss flexibility and hours at interview.

*** Important information regarding DBS checks *** If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, you are required to pay the fee for the DBS check which is £50.00 for an Enhanced check and £30.00 for a Standard check

Staff who are new to the NHS will normally start on the bottom increment of the payscale advertised. From 1st April 2019 new starters to the NHS or those promoted to a new role will be subject to pay progression arrangements as contained in Annex 23 of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.

  • Clinical Bank Workers - To ensure professional practice and competence is up to date a minimum of 6 assignments must be undertaken in each period of 3 months and you must attend any training you are notified of. It is your responsibility to provide evidence that your professional practice is up to date.
  • Non-clinical Bank Workers - A minimum of 1 assignment must be undertaken in a 6 month period and you must attend any training you are notified of.
