What's the role about?
To assess, test and train partners, potential partners and agency drivers to the required standard and to maintain ongoing training and Partner Training Records for all Transport Partners. To improve drivers compliance and actively reduce drivers hours infringements, improve driving style and increasing Fleetboard scores across the CFC. To adhere to all Legal, Health and Safety and Operational procedures and conduct themselves according to the Partnership's principles.

This role would suit someone who:
•Assessment of all Transport drivers periodically
•Assessment of all potential Partners at interview stage of recruitment
•CPC training
•Maintenance of Partner Training Records
•Branch vehicle testing
•Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to including reporting injuries, accidents and any Health and Safety issues.
•Their behaviour to other Partners and members of the Management team.
•Attending regular communication meetings and communicating any operational issues to the Management team.
Adhering to procedures and practises according to the personal training received
•Assess the driving ability and knowledge of potential Partners and agency drivers.
•Periodically assess driving ability, legislation and procedural knowledge of Partners and agency drivers.
•Ensure Partner Training Records are maintained and give appropriate refresher training when necessary and as requested by a Transport First Line Managers.
•Maintain an up to date knowledge of the latest driving regulations, techniques and vehicle technology and communicate as appropriate.
•Carry out comprehensive induction for Partners.
•Carry out vehicle tests for new branches and suppliers, devise procedures and route maps complying with all relevant legislation and restrictions in place.
•To ensure all Legal, Health and Safety legislation and Operational procedures are adhered to at all times and to work within Health and Safety guidelines at all times ensuring the safety of self and others.
•Operational monitoring to include tachographs, accidents, vehicle facilities and Fleet board.
•Deliver the driver CPC course to all Drivers.
•Attend any meetings and carry out other training and project work as required.
•To work within other areas / departments within the CFC as requested by Management.
•To keep up to date with Partnership news by reading notice boards and the Partnership's editorials.
• To ensure all Personnel procedures are adhered to and completed as required

What you'll have
  • LGV1 C+E Driving Licence
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • DSA instructor qualification
  • CPC approved instructor
Desirable experience, skills, and qualifications:
  • Experience in training drivers
  • Experience in assessing drivers
