Job Title: Early Careers Advisor - 12mth Mat Cover starting April 2021
Location: London HQ with travel to other C4 locations when required
Department: Human Resources

C4 has a long-standing commitment to provide opportunities for people to start their careers in the media industry and we are passionate about removing the barriers that often exist to jobs in TV.

In 2019 we opened our new National HQ in Leeds, alongside Creative Hubs in Bristol and Glasgow. In 2020 we launched '4Skills', a new training and development initiative which brings together and builds upon C4's existing talent schemes and initiatives to increase impact. The programmes run by 4Skills aim to attract people from diverse backgrounds into broadcasting and production, address skills gaps and help those who are already in the industry to progress their careers.

This 12mth maternity cover role sits within HR and will manage current schemes and new initiatives that support our '4Skills' programme, alongside providing support to the Talent Acquisition team on recruitment activity and projects.

The wider HR function supports the 3 business areas within the channel (Creative, Commercial, Operations) and the Early Careers Advisor will work with each of these areas across all C4 locations by delivering Apprenticeship and early career programmes that help people start their careers in the media industry.

This role will lead the design and delivery of C4's Apprenticeship and early careers activity across all C4 locations, delivering programmes remotely until our buildings are fully reopened.

You'll need to come with a flexible approach, as during this period of remote working we are needing to find new ways to effectively recruit, select and support our Apprentices, alongside continuing to run events and outreach programmes. You'll need to be able to adapt to changing priorities and be comfortable finding innovative and creative ways to deliver on our 4Skills and inclusion commitments.

The role requires a person comfortable engaging with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and who is comfortable working on projects from initial ideas through to execution.

You'll need experience of working on apprenticeship and early career programmes, and ideally have experience of running youth outreach events and managing budgets.

Most importantly, you'll need to be passionate about helping people find career opportunities and understand the benefits of having a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture.
