Duties & Responsibilities
The Leckford Estate was purchased by John Spedan Lewis, the founder of the John Lewis Partnership, in 1929. The estate is 1,600 hectares in size and is split down the middle, north to south, by the River Test, famous as the home of fly-fishing.The estate is organised around four business units, supported by the estate office team:- Farming - with arable, dairy, beef, orchard and vineyard enterprises- Food Processing - Mushroom Farm, Processing Dairy and an Oilseed Processing Unit- Retail, Leisure and Events - including a Farm Shop, Café, Nursery, Fishing and Golf- PropertyWhat's the role about?As part of the Leckford Estate team, you will provide effective Mechanical and Electrical engineering support to farming and food processing operations to enable smooth operational delivery and minimal down time. You will need to be responsive and effective at dealing with maintenance requests, reactive and urgent maintenance issues. You will need to effectively manage your time as well to carry out planned preventative maintenance as assigned schedules
What you'll be doing?Your role will include:- Preventing problems: constantly monitor building and equipment performance to minimize any disruption to branch operations, using all means available including any BMS systems- Reactive and maintenance: investigate all reactive tasks, carry out/rectify faults without specialist contractor intervention, within competency and skill set. Required essential experience skills and qualifications
What you'll have?- City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 (or JIB approved), or NVQ equivalent- To hold 18th edition IEE wiring regulations certificate- Full and clean driving license- Experience working in a farming / food manufacturing business
