Job Title: Head of Europe Quality

Location: Rotterdam

Scope

In a world where we consumer centricity is a key factor in business, quality plays a pivotal role in influencing consumer decisions. At the same time, our value chains are changing rapidly with an increasingly important role for our Supply Partners. 

Main Job Purpose:

The main purpose of the job is to lead the Quality function across Europe in influencing consumer choice. The job holder is the direct line manager of all PMU quality leads and the central Quality Excellence teams and has a dotted line to the Quality leads of the Sourcing Units. The team is on a journey becoming future-fit Quality business partners, moving away from lagging to leading KPIs, moving from Quality Control to Quality Assurance, and working on our leadership mantra and bringing it alive. The job holder will have the exciting opportunity to embed the Quality function even more in Unilever and ensure we collaborate closely in the area of Quality to deliver what consumers need when they need it. The role works together with the Global Quality team and the Chief Quality Officer and is part of the extended Europe SC Leadership Team.

Key Accountabilities:

Core Job:

The incumbent will focus on three main areas:

· Leading the European Quality team on both strategy and execution: 

• Incident management

• Audits and certifications

• Improvements in Quality across a network of Unilever and 3rd party production sites

• Creating value for the organization, e.g. by reduction of Quality related waste or leveraging the ecosystem of digital tools such as Digital Voice of Consumer and Innoflex.

· Embedding a culture of Quality across all divisions and functions:

• Collaborating with divisions and sourcing units on the turnaround of Quality

• Implementation of Quality One

· Lead a team of 10-12 direct reports (85+ people team) as well as a wider Quality organization of an additional 250+ colleagues

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL: 

• Experience in working in various SC and/or R&D functions – End to end understanding

• Experience in Change Management programs

• Passion and energy for change 

• Cross-functional influencing and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to lead a virtual team across Europe

• A high level of energy

• Be a Citizen Data Scientist

PREFERRED / DESIRABLE: 

• Knowledge about Unilever Quality Management System

• Experience in working with suppliers from either Quality, Procurement, R&D point of view.
