Support Worker

Salary: £8.95 -£9.10 per hour (£17,452 -£17,745 per annum)

Location: Fairways, Aldershot

Hours: This Role is Shift Work (early 7am-3pm, late 2pm-10pm, sleep ins 10pm-7am. Up to 37.5 hours per week.

*Full UK driving license is preferred but not essential.

Fairways is a residential home in Aldershot where we support 6 individuals with various disabilities including visual impairment, autism, mental health, learning disabilities and Parkinson's disease, our aim is to enable the individuals to make choices and express their individuality and to be part of the wider community. No two days are the same and we strive to support the individuals to overcome barriers to which are important to them. To achieve many different life skills within their abilities. So they can live a good quality meaningful life.

A big part of your role as a support worker will be supporting people to do activities they like and to take part in new activities these may include:

Trampolining, swimming, walks, theatre trips, cinema, bowling, cycling, shopping, art & crafts, music, theme parks, going to the zoo or safari park and going on holiday.

As a support worker you will:
  • Provide emotional support to individuals and their families.
  • Provide support for individuals, such as helping with household tasks, personal care and paperwork.
  • Assisting with activities and accessing the local community
  • Support and monitor their healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks.
In this role you will experience behaviours that others may find challenging. With the knowledge and support of the existing team, as well as the appropriate training, you will learn how best to respond to these situations confidently.

We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it's certainly not essential. Full training and support is provided to enable you to succeed in your role and complete the necessary relevant qualifications.
