Job description

To lead the provision of finance and accountancy services, including provision of accurate and timely financial information for decision-making, production of high quality and timely financial and managements accounts. To set the strategy and lead the development of HMLRs financial governance and expertise as part of its proposed financial framework status changes. 


To be successful in this role you will have recent hands-on experience of financial accounts closedown and production in a similar complex environment. You would have worked across a range of roles including financial accounting, financial management and reporting. You will have a track record of consistently delivering high quality outputs to tight deadlines. Through your substantial experience you will be great at leading and managing teams. Your high level of personal resilience will enable you to remain calm under pressure with the ability to think and act strategically, developing practical and innovative solutions, and driving these forward. By having the ability to work flexibly you will manage tasks effectively according to priority. You will be able to quickly develop, nurture and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will allow you to present financial information to non-financial decision makers.


Fully qualified CCAB accountant (or internationally recognised equivalent)


Member of a CCAB accountancy body

Technical skills

We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Excellent Excel skills and working knowledge of accounting software
