Salary: From GPB 45,000 per annum plus GBP 1,300 Essential Car User
We are looking for a permanent full time Fire Safety Advisor to support our existing fire safety team, and the wider Corporate H&S department in its second line of defence role of designing and implementing policies, providing guidance and support to enable risk management implementing an audit programme, monitoring compliance and introducing best practice.
Reporting to the Head of Fire Safety and joining three other fire safety advisors in the team, the role will require close working with direct colleagues, and others across the business as well as with external bodies as required.
You willprovide advice and support on fire safety to frontline staff and management teams as required. This will include driving exemplary fire safety practice across all of L&Q's workplaces, monitoring compliance (especially in relation to new housing developments), along with other related duties such as delivering fire safety training and monitoring operational teams in the delivery of fire safety tasks.You will have a good background in housing fire safety from an advisor level, ideally with experience in reviewing fire strategies for new developments and have good communication, listening and assertiveness skills.
· Professional Qualification NEBOSH Fire Management Certificate (minimum)
· Affiliated with a recognised fire safety institute
· Experience at a fire safety advisor level
· Multi-site fire safety experience within housing
· Knowledge of building regulations and standards
Experience in reviewing new build fire strategies
· Excellent communication skills (verbally and written)
· Able to listen and understand the challenges of others when designing policy/guidance
