The Amazon EU Design and Construction team is seeking a talented EU Senior Fire Strategy Manager to support the expansion of the European network of our Customer Fulfillment Centers.

Our team manages the end-to-end process of design, permitting, construction and delivery of innovative and highly technological distribution centers.

The EU Senior Fire Strategy Manager will develop and manage a standardized approach to fire engineering strategy across the EU countries for the Amazon Buildouts program. The successful candidate will therefore possess a thorough understanding of professional-level fire protection engineering services such as life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, performance-based fire engineering designs and solutions.

Responsibilities:

We're looking for an individual who has significant experience in warehousing or industrial operations permitting and in fire protection strategy or design.

· Assists in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigations or inspections, detailed checking of design done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
· Identifies applicable codes and standards to reference in evaluating how to respond to inquiries
· Conducts building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm systems reviews, smoke control systems reviews, and basic sprinkler systems reviews
· Defines and drives the improvement oriented to an EU-wide standardization of the fire strategy of the Amazon Fulfillment Centers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Engineering or Physics M.Sc. or EU equivalent
· Successful track record of more than 10 years in engineering, construction or academic practices
· Demonstrated knowledge of EU building (such as ICPE or Country equivalents) and fire regulations (NFPA and / or EU equivalents)
· Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices in industrial / logistics buildings
· Successful track record of solving challenging, complex permitting activities
· Outstanding written and oral communication skills to interact and negotiate with technical and institutional stakeholders, both internal and external
· Outstanding ability to look around the corners, entrepreneurial mindset, innovation-driven character
· Outstanding ability to build trustful relationships with private and public partners.
· Ability to travel throughout EU up to 50% of the time
· Fluency in English is a must, working knowledge in another EU language is an asset.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Successful track record in fire engineering and permitting practice in an EU Country
· Specialized publications would be a valued asset
· Knowledgeable in computer modelling of fire, egress or other fire related or influenced phenomena
