JOB PURPOSE

To determine and fully understand root cause of plant failures on site, study repeat stops both minor and major, increase site OEE and reduce production process down time. Increase the reliability across all areas of the plant and on focused equipment. Develop and Implement improvement ideas to processing and production equipment to increase MTBF and to improve running capabilities.  Develop a proactive maintenance strategy in areas that require this to improve asset reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Minor Stop and repeat breakdown analysis across all areas of the production plant specifically linked to top loss areas.

  • Develop plans and sustainable countermeasures to remove root causes of both minor stops, breakdowns and component failures from process equipment.

  • Drive improvement solutions from start to completion.

  • Lead the technical element of preventive maintenance and support where required.

  • Effective communicator with all members of the operations team including engineering, production, safety and quality teams.

  • Input into engineering maintenance strategy to eradicate breakdowns

  • Lead improvement activities to improve production efficiency and reduce cost, waste and engineering inefficiencies, supporting operators and CI team to complete kaizens as required.

  • Utilise lean and manufacturing FI tools and techniques

  • Ensure improvements are sustainable, share knowledge with all team members, updating engineering standards and maintenance

  • Understand principles and parameters of equipment, be able to describe and analyse loss phenomenon and plan to eliminate these losses 

ALL ABOUT YOU

Essential

  • Ideally continuous manufacturing in a FMCG / Food related industry, Electrical competence to Unilever and industry standards, Ideally qualified to IEE 17th Edition

  • Basic/Advanced PLC skills, Broad knowledge and experience of electro mechanical equipment, maintenance and principles

  • Knowledge of safe working practices

  • Excellent communication skills and a good level of computer literacy are essential WCM, TPM or other Continuous Improvement culture

  • Understanding of Machinery Safety Regulations, Engineering project management experience

  • Understanding of Condition Based Monitoring Techniques and applications

Desirable

  • Electrical Skills and Diagnostic Technician with Programme Logic Control qualifications (Siemens S5/Siemens S7/Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley).

  • Instrumentation and Control Skills

  • It would be an added bonus if you had experience of manufacturing in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company and World Class Manufacturing.

  • If you have previous experience as a team member within a project Management team with an awareness of project management tools and techniques then we want to hear from you!

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and have applied their mechanical and electrical skills in their current (or recent) role

  • Ideally Mechanical and Electrical Multiskilled

  • Qualified to ONC/HND and NVQ3 or equivalent

Salary:

32589.44 plus 20% shift allowance

Shift: Working 40 hours 8am to 4pm​
