We complete day to day repairs to customers’ homes and also empty properties to bring them up to the required Onward standard. We also service and repair gas boilers throughout the Lancashire region.At Onward we’re working towards creating positive spaces, which extends to not only to the communities we serve but to our workplaces being positive spaces that are open, diverse and inclusive.  Onward is committed to being a diverse and inclusive organisation in every aspect of our work. We are looking for a Foreperson - Responsive Repairs (1 post) to join our Repairs team in the Lancashire region on a permanent contract.

Reporting to the Team Leader (Responsive Repairs / Voids and Adaptations) you will support the delivery of property maintenance services in line with all group standards and key performance indicators. Ensuring high standards are consistently met together with observing all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements while undertaking repair activities with customer's homes, empty properties and for other clients as required.

In line with Repairs specification and best practice you will coordinate and undertake cost effective repair solutions delivering value for money. You will proactively organise workload to ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective service at all times.

You will liaise with clients, customers and colleagues regarding access, safe working practices and assessment of repairs requirements and progress of repairs. You will complete jobs on PDA's and maintain other records as required including access details, materials used, job progression and follow on information. You will undertake work activities in line with health and safety requirements demonstrating a sound working knowledge of key legislative health and safety and working practices.

In order to be successful you will have a sound knowledge of building construction, components, building trades and applicable building regulations. You will have experience of working in a customer focussed service and a proven ability to deliver quality repairs service. You should have a sound knowledge of health and safety regulations. You should have City and Guilds Craft Certificate within a trade discipline or equivalent and appropriate CSCS card.

The role may involve participation in an emergency 'out of hours' service as required and therefore occasional weekend work may be required. This is in addition to the contractual hours and additional compensation is provided. 

Candidates should be prepared to travel across the Lancashire region to cover our repair's service and a full UK Driving Licence is required.

The base location for this role is Accrington and will involve dealing with Repairs across the wider Lancashire region, predominantly within our Preston area.  Due to Covid-19, we have adapted our working arrangements under government guidelines and Safe Systems of Work.  Discussions around the current working arrangements and Safe Systems of Work specific to the role will take place during the interview process.
