Gloucestershire Hospitals NHSFT is seeking to appoint an experienced General Manager after the promotion of the current post-holder. This is a challenging time in the NHS, but as an innovative organisation recognised as 'Good' by the CQC, we believe that we can continue to strive to deliver excellent care and are seeking an individual able to embrace change, inspire and lead others in helping to achieve our aim to be 'Outstanding'.

The Person

You will be responsible for leading and managing the day to day operations of the service line to deliver quality, operational and financial objectives. You will be supported by strong clinical leadership and provided with appropriate development opportunities to support your career.

We are looking for a person educated to Masters Level or equivalent, with demonstrable and credible experience of senior operational management roles in the acute sector of the NHS. You must be able to demonstrate a high level of financial acumen, the ability to manage multiple tasks whilst having a view on strategic direction with a proven track record of delivering performance targets. In addition, you must have excellent staff management skills and service transformation experience.

With excellent communication skills you will need to be able to establish your credibility at all levels internally and externally, and be able to quickly build relationships within your own team and the wider organisation. Both a flexible 'can do' attitude and a strong focus on delivery are essential. You must be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and be able to cope with conflicting pressures.

This is a full time position that involves cross-site working and on-call commitments.
